# iOS SDK guides

Integrate ReceptionKit into your iOS app, then connect chat to your navigation, unread badges, accounts, and notifications. Choose a guide below for the task you are working on.

## Set up ReceptionKit

Start with [Setup](/docs/get-started) to add the Swift package, configure it with your App ID, and verify your first conversation. The guide covers both coding-agent and manual setup with the hosted Reception service.

For an existing UIKit app, follow [UIKit integration](/docs/uikit) to configure ReceptionKit in your app delegate, open the chat sheet, and observe unread updates.

## Integrate chat into your app

- [Chat features and behavior](/docs/chat-features) — Understand sending, photos, delivery states, retries, and conversation behavior.
- [Open and close the chat](/docs/entry-point) — Choose a support entry point and integrate the standard sheet or your own presentation.
- [Unread messages and badges](/docs/unread-messages) — Show unread counts in a settings row, home-screen button, tab, or app icon.
- [Users & accounts](/docs/accounts) — Connect sign-in, sign-out, and account deletion; add customer details and verification.
- [Push notifications](/docs/push-notifications) — Connect Apple notification handling and dashboard credentials, then verify delivery.
- [Paywall cards](/docs/paywalls) — Register your app’s purchase screens and handle card taps.
- [Events and callbacks](/docs/events) — Respond to chat, message, review, paywall, and data-deletion events.

## Customize the chat

- [Chat appearance](/docs/appearance) — Set colors, fonts, welcome text, and close controls.
- [Text and localization](/docs/language) — Follow the app language or connect your language picker, with all supported languages listed.
- [Dashboard overrides](/docs/remote-appearance) — Publish appearance changes and understand how they interact with your Swift settings.

## Look up an API

The [Swift API reference](/docs/sdk-reference) is the complete catalog of public methods, properties, types, parameters, and defaults. For example, the [unread guide](/docs/unread-messages) shows how to build a badge; the [unreadCount reference](/docs/sdk-reference#unread-count) describes the property itself.
