    Billing

    Pricing & billing

Reception charges 0.5% of your App Store revenue above $1,000 per billing period. All apps in an organization share one allowance. Open Settings → Billing for your current period, estimated fee, payment method, and invoices.

    Pricing

Revenue is what your users paid on the App Store, after refunds and before Apple's commission, as Apple's daily sales reports list it (customer price times units). Where App Store prices include VAT, so does this amount. Each currency is converted to USD at that day's exchange rate. Android, advertising, web checkout, and sandbox purchases are excluded.

    $10,000$45

Free access excludes covered days from billing and pauses App Store connection and key deadlines; existing invoices remain due.

An Owner connects the organization's apps through Connect revenue. Customer plan and revenue metadata help your team understand a customer; they do not determine this fee. Paywall cards open your app's purchase flow and are also separate from Reception billing.

    Estimates and billing periods

Billing starts at the next UTC midnight after the first message from one of your apps reaches Reception, including a test message during setup. Periods follow that monthly anniversary. A shorter month uses its last day when necessary; the original anniversary day resumes in the next month. Apps added later join the running period from the next UTC midnight after their own first message.

Revenue is counted from that day even if you connect the App Store later. Connecting starts loading recent revenue and any missing billing days still available from Apple. The connection preview is separate from your billing-period total. A day Apple has not reported yet remains unknown, never zero. Nothing before an app's first message is billed.

    Payment methods and invoices

An Owner can add a card in Settings → Billing at any time. You only need one once a period's revenue passes $1,000; the button is highlighted then. Use this page to manage payment details and review invoices and their payment status. The estimate can change until all required revenue data is available and the statement is finalized. Fees under $1 carry over to the next period instead of being invoiced.

An Owner can end billing at the end of the running period. Fees already incurred remain payable. Disconnecting the App Store or deleting an app does not cancel fees already due.

    When billing needs attention

A notice at the top of the dashboard names the most urgent problem and how much time is left to fix it. Every problem has its own deadline:

    • After an app's first message, you have 7 days to connect it to the App Store. Each app gets its own 7 days; the problem turns red for the last 2 days.

    • An invalid key or a failed payment is shown in red and gives you 3 days to fix it.

If there is more than one problem, the notice shows +1 (or more). Settings → Billing shows each problem where it belongs, with its own time left: apps that need a connection or a new key in the Apps list, a failed payment under Payment method.

If Apple can't deliver reports for a while, the app shows that Apple isn't responding. Reception retries automatically, no deadline starts, and you don't need to do anything.

Once any deadline has passed, the notice shows Replies paused for your whole organization, because billing covers all of its apps together: you can still read new messages, but conversations stay unread and nobody can reply, send paywall cards or review requests, add apps, or invite teammates. Your users can still send messages, and nothing is deleted. Existing team access, billing, reconnection, and deletion remain available. Replies resume once every overdue issue is resolved; updating a card alone does not settle an unpaid invoice. Owners can fix payment details in Billing or reconnect the App Store in app settings; Agents should contact an Owner. If you think the notice is wrong, write to us in the support chat.
