How Reception fits together
Your app provides the support entry point and any customer identity or metadata. ReceptionKit provides the native chat; Reception hosts your team's inbox and stores the conversations. Each dashboard app has its own public App ID.
By default, customers can chat without signing in. Each support registration has its own history: supplying the same user ID on two devices does not merge their conversations. Add identity verification when your team needs to verify a signed-in customer's identity.
